As Director of Coding and Education, Karen brings 18 years of experience working with hospitals, physician groups, legal counsel and professional review organizations. She was Outpatient Coding Manager for a large academic facility before joining Coding Compliance Solutions. Karen is a 2010 delegate for the Michigan Health Information Management Association, and has numerous certifications and professional affiliations in the health compliance industry.

ANGELA FLOOD, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10CM/PCS Trainer

Angela applies more than 15 years of coding experience to CCS clients’ complex coding and billing issues. She is a specialist in ICD-9 and ICD-10 as well as CPT coding, and has conducted numerous training programs for all levels of health care providers, as well as developed documentation processes and written policies to aid compliance.

ANGELA JACOBSON, RN, BS

Angela brings a strong clinical background, combined with leadership experience in documentation improvement.  She has worked as a nurse in a variety of treatment settings, including hospital, neonatal intensive care, labor and delivery and medical-surgical, and most recently was charged with improving documentation practices at a major academic medical center.  Angela is co-author of a documentation tips book that is used by physicians, residents, students, PAs and NPs.  Her combination of experience is invaluable when reviewing medical records to assure that all significant treatment details are properly captured.
